Connect and Cultivate

Having access to and learning from organisations that are at the cutting edge of engineering is vital for young minds. We've joined forces with a range of organisations to help deliver inspiring experiences to young people and show them what it's like to work in STEM industries.

By connecting with engineering organisations in the local area, teachers and pupils are able to see all of the possibilities that modern engineering has to offer, seeing first-hand the creativity and innovation involved as well as meeting inspiring role models and forging new relationships.

It's great for organisations too. They'll be able to inspire the next generation of engineers, and secure top talent for years to come. Find your perfect opportunity below.

STEM Exchange

The STEM Exchange acts as a matching service, providing teachers and young people (aged 14 and over) with the opportunity to access Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths (STEM) experiences offered by employers.

It was established by not-for-profit engineering skills organisation Semta and commissioned by the Education and Training Foundation (ETF).

Employers who support The STEM Exchange provide vital opportunities for young people and teachers to gain first-hand experience of what it’s really like to work in a STEM related industry. They can offer a wide range of opportunities from work experience to webinars, to school visits and recruitment events.

Primary Engineer

Primary Engineer created the ‘STEM by Stealth®’ educational approach to bringing engineering and engineers into early years, primary and secondary classrooms and curricula. Inspiring children, pupils and teachers through continued professional development, whole class project work, competitions and exhibitions.

The schools are paired with engineers who will support the programme in the classroom with teachers and pupils, providing a real-world context to the learning. This engineering context offers children the opportunity to develop skills and behaviours through curriculum-linked engineering projects and meaningful engagement with engineers.

Primary Engineer aims to encourage more young people to consider careers in STEM-related professions.
